Falling for the Contract Bride Chapter 262

Chapter 262 There Was Zero Chance in Surviving

Bai Shao quietly followed the security guard to where Lu Jinye was. He was as calm as could be when he came face to face with Lu Jinye.

“Hello,” he greeted Lu Jinye first.

“Why did you falsify the results to say that Mu Zhi and I are siblings?” Lu Jinye quietly asked.

Bai Shao chuckled, “Because of hatred. Because I loathe you. What other reason could there be?”

He shot the question back at Lu Jinye. This irritated Lu Jinye.

He batted his hand at Bai Shao, “Do you think this is a casual chat? Speak clearly! Where did Mu Zhi go? What did you tell her?!”

Bai Shao was as composed as always.

“I didn’t say anything. I just handed her the results and let her decide what to do with it.”

Bai Shao was as monotonous as ever.

Lu Jinye carefully examined Bai Shao but soon lost his patience. He didn’t even want to continue interrogating him.

Because if he continued in this line of questioning, he had to ask for the reasons behind the falsification of the test. This would inevitably touch on some past skeletons in their family.

As for these, Lu Jinye had no interest whatsoever.

He rubbed at his temples and gave ordered the security personnel, “Continue questioning him. Inform me of any clues. I have to go look for Mu Zhi.”

Lu Jinye turned abruptly and headed towards the exit.

As soon as he had left, he called the staff for any clues on Mu Zhi’s whereabouts. But they repeated the same thing back at him, that Mu Zhi got into a car and they couldn’t find out anything else beyond that.

The car had driven to a deserted road and somehow disappeared!

The staff relayed the information and waited anxiously for Lu Jinye’s reaction.

Lu Jinye was silent for a bit before saying, “Search! Continue searching for her!”

Where could Mu Zhi be?

Lu Jinye immediately called his friends.

In a suburban warehouse.

Mu Zhi watched the kidnapper as he slowly approached her. She had nothing else to say. Her throat was hoarse and dry. She kept asking him if it was Lu Jinye who ordered the kidnapping and wanted her dead. But the answers were all pointing to him.

The more it indicated that it was Lu Jinye, the deeper Mu Zhi sunk in despair.

She quietly watched the kidnapper. Her heart was broken.

“Let me go! I need to hear this from Lu Jinye!”

“Are you joking with me?”

He laughed at her and said in disbelief, “I’ve told you that Chairman Lu ordered this. Just so that you won’t die without knowing the cause. And now you’re pushing things and want to look for Chairman Lu?”

“Fine. What do you want to know? Just ask me. I’ll answer your questions. But you’ll only be more disappointed when you find out the truth!”

He peered at her through his sunglasses.

Mu Zhi stared at him in fear, but now… After trying to delay, bargain and appearing weak, Mu Zhi had tried everything she could think of.

There was no other way of it besides death.

Just the thought of it drove Mu Zhi into deeper anguish.

Suddenly, the kidnapper’s phone rang again. Mu Zhi watched him pick up the phone. This time, she couldn’t hear the order issued on the other end but the expression on the kidnapper’s face changed abruptly.

“Yes!” He quickly replied.

He hung up immediately and approached Mu Zhi.

Mu Zhi was terrified beyond belief and tried to back away from him, but he grabbed hold of her arm and pulled her towards him.

He quickly stuffed something into her mouth.

Mu Zhi struggled but he blindfolded her.

After that, she felt something wrapping around her and binding her. She could no longer move. His binding technique was unique in that the more she struggled, the tighter the ropes became.

She then felt herself being carried up and out of the warehouse.

She was thrown into a car. She could not tell how long they travelled.

Mu Zhi could only feel the bumps of the road and that the kidnapper seemed to be quite busy. He was constantly on the phone.

He spoke urgently, “I understand! You said that if I killed her, you’ll send me overseas. But what if I don’t want to go overseas?!”

“I’m not killing her!” He yelled out.

Mu Zhi couldn’t help but tremble every time his phone would ring. But now that she heard that he was not going to kill her, she was relieved.

She waited for the car to stop.

Mu Zhi was slowly lifted and set down.

The kidnapper unblindfolded her, allowing Mu Zhi to see what’s around her.

She was facing the vast sea.

Mu Zhi looked at him in a daze while he sighed, “Chairman Lu ordered for me to kill you, but I don’t know if I should…”

“Sob…”

Mu Zhi wanted desperately to scream, to tell him to not kill her.

But the words turn into sobs the moment she tried to speak, making them incomprehensible.

She suddenly heard the sound of a revving engine. Before the kidnapper could react, a car was driving towards them.

The car was once Lu Jinye’s.

But she did not know the man who was driving it.

The car was driven in a beeline towards Mu Zhi. The kidnapper left her and fled on his own.

But the car continued to chase after the kidnapper until he ran him over without stopping.

The scene frightened Mu Zhi that she was close to throwing up.

The car did not stop and turned towards her.

It continued to drive rush towards her.

Mu Zhi watched as it approached and tried to back away.

But behind her was the sea. She could not retreat any further. If she fell into the depths of the sea being bound like this, there was little to no chance of surviving.

However… If she waited for death like this, there was also zero chance of her surviving.
