Chapter 22 Did She Want To Kiss Him
Yan Wan hesitated but eventually sat beside Huo Lichen. They left a small gap between them.
Even so, Yan Wan had drawn a multitude of stares ranging from envious ones to those of hatred.
All the women around them wanted to sit beside Huo Lichen. However, he was aloof and did not call for a single one of them. They could only make do with accompanying his friends.
A beautiful woman commented sardonically, “Young Master Qin, isn’t this lady your friend? It may not be suitable for her to sit beside Mr. Huo.”
When Yan Wan heard this, she immediately sat upright.
Although they were engaged, he was here to have fun after all. Huo Lichen probably did not want anyone to know about their relationship.
Yan Wan said softly, “Mr. Huo, I’ll be sitting elsewhere.”
She got up as she said this, but before she could leave, a large hand held her back.
She was pulled down closer to Huo Lichen this time.
Yan Wan could distinctly smell him. He smelled dignified and elegant which made her nervous.
He had a firm tone, “You’re my fiancée. Where else do you want to sit?”
Yan Wan was startled. She did not expect Huo Lichen to openly declare their relationship even at this place.
The people present here were aristocratic and came from wealthy families. They all seemed to be his friends. However, none of them was present at the engagement ceremony. It was obvious that Huo Lichen did not want to be engaged to her, which was why he did not invite them.
But now…
All his friends looked at them in shock. They had never seen Huo Lichen voluntarily get close to a woman before.
It seemed that what Qin Chu said was true. Huo Lichen really did treat her differently.
“Sister-in-law, I’m Gu Ang. I was working overseas during your engagement to Lichen, and couldn’t make it back in time. What a coincidence that I can make up for it today. I’ll toast to you now.” Gu Ang walked over and offered Yan Wan a glass of wine politely.
Yan Wan stared at Huo Lichen in uncertainty. He had pursed his lips and his expression was unreadable.
She could only accept the toast.
After that, another man came and offered her a toast as well.
“Sister-in-law, I’m Yan Wennan. I’ll definitely be the first to show up during your wedding.”
The wedding would probably never happen, but she still had to accept the toast here.
Yan Wan smiled politely and was about to drink, but the glass was snatched away from her hands.
Huo Lichen swiveled the glass in front of him.
He glared at the men dangerously, “Do you guys intend to make her drunk by offering toasts one by one like this?”
The men looked guilty as they averted their gazes.
Yan Wennan cleared his throat and replied seriously, “It’s just a formality. It’s our first time meeting sister-in-law, after all. One glass per person won’t knock her out.”
There were five or six men present. With all of them offering a toast, Yan Wan would surely be drunk after that.
She could not hold her liquor well.
Huo Lichen’s gaze darkened as he raised the glass, clinking it against Yan Wennan’s.
“I’ll drink it for her.” He finished the wine quickly.
Yan Wennan stared at Huo Lichen in shock.
He knew that Huo Lichen treated his fiancée differently, but he did not expect the indifferent and aloof Huo Lichen to defend her.
It was just a glass of wine.
Yan Wan had mixed feelings as she watched the man beside her finish the wine for her. However, being protected by him like this made her feel as if he really did care for her.
Qin Chu did not offer her a toast but brought a spin-the-wheel over.
He placed it on the table and chimed, “What’s the point of just drinking? With so many people present, we should play a game! How does Truth or Dare sound?”
“Great idea. Join us, sister-in-law,” Yan Wennan seemed to read Qin Chu’s mind and invited Yan Wan with a smile.
In any other situation, Huo Lichen would not join in whatever the game was. However, when it came to Truth or Dare, as long as Yan Wan was participating, even if Huo Lichen didn’t want to play, they could drag him in somehow.
Yan Wan seemed apprehensive of playing such a game with unfamiliar men.
Before she had a chance to protest, Yan Wennan had placed the dice in front of Yan Wan.
“Ladies first.”
As the people around her stared at her in anticipation, Yan Wan could not refuse. What harm can there be in a game?
The first person to go on was Qin Chu.
“Looks like my luck isn’t bad today,” Qin Chu joked and spun the wheel.
The pointer landed on the words: Choose someone of the same gender, and put him/her up against the wall. Give him/her a passionate confession for an entire minute.
Qin Chu’s expression darkened. He grumbled, “Seriously? A person of the same gender?”
He would have been happier with someone of the opposite gender.
Yan Wennan snickered, “Looks like even you have bad days, Qin Chu. Guys, get your phones ready to record the historical moment when young master Qin turns gay.”
“With such a recording, how will I get girls in the future?” Qin Chu had a pained expression as his ‘friends’ had already whipped out their phones. He turned to Huo Lichen for help.
“Lichen, they won’t dare to film you. Can I put you up against the wall for a minute?”
“No,” Huo Lichen declined without hesitation.
Qin Chu was at the end of his rope. He glared menacingly at the gloating Yan Wennan and walked toward him.
Yan Wennan protested, “I refuse your advances.”
Qin Chu pushed him onto the couch and smiled fiendishly, “Looks like I’ll have to use force then.”
Yan Wan’s eyes gleamed when she saw the two handsome men wrestling on the couch and she wanted to record a video of it as well.
At this moment, a wide palm covered her eyes.
A man’s deep and seductive voice whispered into her ear, “That’s adult content.”
Huo Lichen’s arm wrapped around her shoulder to cover her eyes. It seemed like he was hugging her. The distance between them made her heart pound.
Yan Wan’s body stiffened and her face felt hot.
After a minute, Yan Wennan pushed Qin Chu away in frustration and threw the dice at him, “Hurry up with the next round.”
Qin Chu felt satisfied dragging Yan Wennan down with him and rolled the dice happily.
The next person was Yan Wan.
She was stunned, but she spun the wheel anyway.
This wheel had many different types of punishments and they were all mostly in fun. It was easy to play and entertaining as well.
However, when the wheel stopped spinning, she was shocked at her punishment.
Why is my luck so bad? This punishment…
“This isn’t punishment! This is a blessing! Sister-in-law, who are you going to kiss passionately for two minutes?” Qin Chu started stirring trouble. His suggestive gaze shuffled between Yan Wan and Huo Lichen.
Yan Wan’s face flushed red in embarrassment.
Give a person of the opposite gender a passionate kiss. Doesn’t that mean I have to kiss Huo Lichen?
