Chapter 2947 Make Way
Pow! Johann collapsed as the man hit him.
After wiping away the blood from the corner of his lips, he suddenly looked cold.
“Why are you following us? You might not know who we are but you definitely can tell that we are not to be trifled with.” A few seconds later, the man threw a kick at Johann and sent him flying.
Johann didn’t practice self-defense or judo before because he was committed to developing his career for many years. As such, he was diffident when facing the thugs.
After a while, Johann covered his stomach and stood up slowly. However, he fell to the ground again once the man kicked him.
Meanwhile, Joan was heartbroken upon seeing this.
Thud! Joan kicked the man next to her with all her might. Then, she hopped out and shook her head toward Johann.
Johann looked up, smiled at her, and said nothing. I’ll live in shame if I can’t even protect the woman I love!
Soon, a few cars came to sight.
What’s going on? Some of their faces darkened the moment they recognized the man in the car.
“Boss, it’s Larry!”
They panicked right away. Who doesn’t know Larry? When they abducted Joan, their sponsor promised that Larry wouldn’t be aware of it. Now that Larry showed up, they felt that they were in huge trouble.
Damn it! We shouldn’t have trusted the woman in the first place!
“Run!”
As soon as they wanted to leave, Larry’s men encircled them completely.
“Don’t come near us, or I’ll kill her!” Suddenly, their boss pulled Joan closer and held her throat.
“Joan,” Larry said softly to her, who stood not far from him.
“How are you? Are you alright?” Jessica helped Johann up and wiped away the blood at the corner of his lips.
“Let us go! Fast!” their leaders shouted.
Dream on! While Jessica looked furious, Larry was a little hesitant. Joan would be in danger if he let them go; nonetheless, they were threatening him with Joan’s life now.
The atmosphere was tense, and everyone on both sides was at a loss.
“Release her, and I promise I’ll let you off the hook,” Larry said determinedly.
“Larry!” Caspian yelled. How could we know who the mastermind is if we don’t question them?”
“Larry, do you think I’m a three-year-old kid? Will you still let me go after I release her? I’m not an idiot! Make way and let us leave with her! Otherwise, we’ll do down with her together!”
Larry was frightened upon hearing it. I can never lose Joan!
“Alright, you can leave!” With that, Larry waved his hand at his men.
“Larry!” Caspian sounded dissatisfied.
“Let them go!” Larry ordered furiously.
In the end, they stood aside and made way for the thugs to speed off with Joan in the car.
Larry felt his head throbbing as he watched the car leave. Meanwhile, Johann came up to him and bellowed, “Why did you let them go? Joan is still in their hands now!”
Larry lifted his head and took a deep breath to calm himself down. A few seconds later, he turned around to gaze at Caspian and said seriously, “I want you to chase after them! Assign different men at different spots to follow them wherever they go. They will discover it if only a man follows them.”
Indeed, the older, the wiser! Caspian nodded in response and left immediately.
“Jessica, bring him to the hospital. Also, thank you so much for your help.” Larry expressed his gratitude to Johann.
As expected, the thugs who abducted Joan didn’t realize that they were being followed.
“Larry, their car stopped at the entrance of a hotel,” Caspian reported.
