Chapter 2952 A Proposal To Team Up
“Caspian, make sure you protect Joan. I don’t want her to get hurt anymore,” Larry instructed with gravitas.
Caspian agreed to comply.
“What’s wrong? Did the plan fail?” In the café, Della was stirring her cup of coffee. She was gazing scornfully at the woman in front of her.
So what? I still have many opportunities in the future. Chagrined, Abelyn was reticent. She then took a sip of her coffee. Della must be laughing at me now. Hmph, laugh all you want. I couldn’t care less!
“It’s none of your business,” Abelyn replied coldly.
Oh my, when did she become this grumpy? Is it because of Joan? Della sneered, “Do you need my help?”
What can she possibly help me with? If she really wants to help me, she shouldn’t have called me out here today! Not to mention, I don’t want to get involved with her any more than I should! Also, if Larry somehow finds out, he’ll be even more cautious toward me. When that happens, it’ll be way harder for me to make a move on Joan.
“No,” Abelyn answered directly.
Aw, that’s too bad! Does she really think that can deal with Joan by herself? What a joke!
“Abelyn, I’m going to give it to you straight. You can’t deal with Joan on your own. How about you team up with me?” Della suggested.
However, Abelyn had no intention of teaming up with her. Della is cunning and crafty. She might betray me halfway through the plan and rat me out to Larry.
I must be prudent about this.
“Sorry, I’m used to working alone. I don’t like collaborating with others,” Abelyn responded.
She really doesn’t want to work with me huh? Della stared menacingly at Abelyn. This dumb b*tch! Why is she so stubborn!
“If there’s nothing important to talk to me about, we should abstain from meeting each other again.” After finishing her sentence, Abelyn stood up and was getting ready to leave.
Does she wish to end our relationship? Abelyn, are you out of your goddamn mind? If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t be sitting comfortably here now! This is absurd! Ultimately, you’re afraid of getting blackmailed by others, aren’t you?
Such a shame! Whatever you were trying to hide, I already knew it in the first place.
“Are you not afraid that I’ll tell Larry about your involvement in Joan’s abduction?” Della intentionally queried.
That being said, Abelyn seemed unperturbed by her question.
“Ms. Duff, enough with the nonsense. If you really think that I was the one who abducted Joan, then show me the evidence.”
Abelyn was right. Della didn’t have any proof of Abelyn being the abductor. However, she was obstinate that Abelyn was the one who did it. Who else would do such a cruel thing to Joan except for her?
I can’t believe that she’s still trying to feign innocence! This woman is way too deceitful! Don’t you worry, Abelyn. One of these days, I’ll have you wrapped around my finger!
Since the conversation between them didn’t go too well, the two of them left soon after.
“Eh? Isn’t that Abelyn?” Nancy asked Jory while pointing at a woman in front of them.
“It is her,” Jory was quick to respond.
After Abelyn had gotten in the car, Della was seen walking out of the café.
“Why is Della here too?” Nancy was thinking out loud. Strange… Did they have a meeting just now? I thought they were enemies though.
Seeing Abelyn and Della together, Jory was flooded with questions. Without pondering too much about it, he grabbed hold of Nancy’s hand and quickly left.
“That’s enough, we should head home now. The kid is waiting for us.”
Having heard the word “kid”, Nancy immediately turned around and got in the car.
Ever since Joan had moved into Larry’s villa, she seldom went back to her house that was first recommended to her by Jessica. Clara, her neighbor, as well as Johann, were feeling down because of this.
