“Mrs. Wright, rest assured that Johann would unequivocally find a better woman than me,” uttered Joan.
She couldn’t compel herself to love another man. Larry is the only one for me.
“Joan, can you take some time to reconsider? My son’s conditions aren’t bad either. He has everything that Larry can offer. Plus, he’s a stalwart person and he loves you very much,” Clara replied.
I can’t deny the fact that he’s an outstanding man. That being said, I still can’t bring myself to love him.
Maybe it’s because I met Larry first. Everything that Larry has done for me is engraved deeply in my heart.
“Mrs. Wright, I think that’s enough for this topic, okay? That’s not why I’m here. I came here today solely to see how you were doing.” Joan tried to change the topic.
It looks like she has made up her mind. I don’t there’s any chance for Johann anymore. Oh, my poor boy. Just when you finally found a woman you liked, she’s then immediately taken away from you…
“Larry, aren’t you afraid?!” Shocked, Jessica yelled out loud in the office.
What’s the big deal? Since Larry believed that Joan would not betray him, he was sure that there was nothing special going on between Joan and Johann.
“What if Johann decides to steal her from you?” Jessica queried.
If he dares to do so, then I’ll make sure he regrets it!
“Honestly, Johann looks pretty suave. His achievements are quite remarkable too. Not to mention, he’s also from a prominent family,” Jessica tried to provoke Larry.
This silly woman! She’s been beguiled by him! Larry was infuriated. His looks pales in comparison to mine! She must be blind to compliment him like this!
“Okay, that’s enough blabbering! You should go now. I have work to do. Stop being a nudnik to me!” Larry retorted.

Larry gave Jessica an ominous look before continuing on with his work. However, he was still enraged by Jessica’s statement earlier.
Surely Joan doesn’t think he’s good looking, right? There’s no way she would fall for his deceitful looks.
But just in case, I should do something about this! Larry decided to call Joan in the end.
“It’s getting late. You should come back as soon as possible,” Larry uttered over the phone.
Huh? What is he on about? It’s still quite early. Don’t tell me he’s drunk again. Joan was rather confused.
“Joan, you should eat with us.” The sound of a man’s voice was heard by Larry.
It’s Johann’s voice!
“Larry, I’m going to eat with Mrs. Wright. I’ll head home after I’ve finished eating.” Having finished her sentence, Joan immediately hung up the phone.
Larry was getting riled up. That son of a b*tch! He’s not even trying to hide it!
Calm down. She’s just having a meal with Mrs. Wright. I’m overreacting. Larry managed to keep his composure.
“Here, Joan. This dish is made by Johann. Have a taste.” Clara offered Joan some baked ribs.
