Never Late, Never Away Chapter 3080

Chapter 3080 Take It Easy

Delilah had already become a much calmer person. She no longer had any big dreams of owning a business. Instead, she just wanted to plant in her own garden at home and enjoy the later years of her life with ease.

“Ms. Young, don’t you think I was quite the fool back then?” Joan suddenly asked Delilah.

She was taken aback. What is Joan saying? She wasn’t being a fool, she was simply too kind.

“The day Larry proposed to me, Jake showed me those pictures. I was furious, but I went back to that *sshole’s side like nothing happened,” Joan said faux-angrily.

That’s all because of love, silly girl.

Delilah chuckled and gently tapped Joan on the head.

“You and Larry are a match made in heaven. Do you know how many people were envious of you two, or admired your relationship? Even now, although you’ve lost your memories, Larry still hasn’t given up on you.” Delilah’s tone was as casual as if she were talking about the weather, but her words ran deep.

True. Larry hasn’t given up on me, not then and not even now. Joan looked up and smiled at the sky.

She knew she would be well off with such a caring and reliable husband.

“Joan!” All of a sudden, a bunch of people barged in.

Joan was shocked. Who are they? What are they doing here? Joan looked at the people who suddenly barged in suspiciously, feeling anxious.

Delilah immediately ran toward Joan and pulled her behind her back.

“What are you all doing here?” Delilah asked, immediately on high alert.

She knew who these people were. They were all workers from the nearest supermarket. Back when Joan had been working at the supermarket, they treated her horribly. All they did was boss her around all day and if it wasn’t for Dustin intervening to chase them away, they might have done something even worse to Joan.

There was no good reason for them to suddenly come here.

“Ms. Young, we’re all neighbors after all, so why are you being so standoffish? We just heard that Joan was back and wanted to see her since we haven’t seen her for a long time,” one of the younger women said with a hint of disdain on her face.

Huh? So we used to know each other? Joan looked at the women in front of her as she tried to think back, but she couldn’t recall any of them.

“We’re busy. We have no time to waste chatting with you, so please leave. Maybe you can come back another day,” Delilah said straightforwardly.

She had been around for long enough that she could tell exactly what these people were up to.

“Come on, Joan. Since we haven’t met up in so long, we should go out and have a proper meal together. We can talk about our old times too.”

Talk about old times? What nonsense! They have nothing to talk about! Are they going to tell her about how they bullied her and treated her like an outcast? Delilah thought as she looked at them with disgust.

“Joan has nothing to talk about with all of you. Leave. It’s against the law for all of you to barge in on private property,” Delilah said.

Old b*tch. Why’s she acting all high and mighty at this ripe old age? The women in front of them thought with clenched fists.

All they wanted was for Joan to talk to Dustin and ask him to let them work at the supermarket again. If they couldn’t go back, they would really be in trouble.

“Don’t be mad, Ms. Young. I admit that we’ve done some bad things to you before, Joan, but you won’t hold a grudge against people like us, right? Besides, it’s been so long since then. You’ve definitely forgotten about it, right?” that woman said on purpose.
