Chapter 2958 It Is Love
“Sure,” Larry replied immediately.
Joan noticed Larry’s delayed reaction and wondered if he was still upset over what happened the night before.
“Joan, this is yours! The dish in front of you is mine!” Dustin said while passing the vegetable dish to Joan. At the same time, Joan passed the braised short ribs in front of her to Dustin.
Abelyn could feel her anger mounting as she noticed the chemistry between Dustin and Joan. On the other hand, Larry did not mind at all as he was certain that Dustin was already completely over Joan.
“Why did you keep staring at Abelyn just now?” Joan asked Larry softly when they were back in the living room.
Is this woman jealous? Larry pulled Joan into his arms and kissed her forehead lightly. His affection for the woman was written all over his face.
“Jealous? Or angry?” He asked her gently as if he had already forgotten that she had stayed over at Johann’s place the previous night.
“Why would I be jealous?” Joan replied while trying to push the man away.
“Aren’t you intending to explain to me what happened last night?” Larry nibbled at her earlobes and asked softly while blowing air into her ears playfully. He didn’t want to make things difficult for her as it wasn’t easy for them to be together again.
“Actually, really nothing happened between Johann and I last night. Mrs. Wright knows my current status and besides, Johann is a gentleman. He would definitely not do anything that damages his reputation,” Joan put her arms around the man tightly and looked up at him, while replying to him seriously.
In fact, Larry would believe anything Joan told him!
It was just that he had let anger overcome him earlier on. As such, he didn’t care to listen to Joan’s explanation. Since things had already been cleared up, there was no longer a need for them to give each other the silent treatment.
“Johann likes you, right?” Larry suddenly asked.
Strange, how does he know? Joan did not remember telling Larry about it. “A man looks at a woman differently when he is in love with her,” Larry explained while holding the woman’s hand tightly.
Wow, it seems like this man is quite attentive. He even managed to notice that. Joan continued snuggling in Larry’s arms while basking in his warmth.
“So, do you like him more or do you like me more?” Larry lifted the woman’s chin while he asked teasingly.
Isn’t he asking the obvious? Obviously, Joan liked Larry more!
Besides, her feelings towards Johann were that of a friend, while she felt romantic love towards Larry.
“I’m so sleepy!” Joan tried to avoid answering him.
“You’re not allowed to sleep until you answer my question, otherwise I’ll… ” Larry pinned Joan under him before completing his sentence and buried his head in her neck.
“Don’t do that! OK, fine. I’ll answer.” Joan was exhausted and did not have any energy to further exert herself. With a serious expression, she said, “Well, ‘like’ is not the correct word to describe my feelings for you.”
A glint of disappointment flashed across Larry’s eyes when he heard that. What else could he say? Joan had not gotten her memories back after all.
“It should be ‘love’ instead,” Joan continued.
Larry’s eyes lit up at once and he was elated. He tousled the woman’s hair lightly and asked anxiously, “Do you really mean it?”
Why would I lie about that? Joan smiled and nodded her head firmly.
Finally, the both of them had returned to the loving couple they were before.
So what if Joan had lost her memories? Their feelings towards each other had not changed at all. It was unfortunate for Jake that even though he tried so hard to keep Joan by his side, he was still unable to win her heart.
“Larry, I want to visit Ms. Young and Lucius,” Joan suddenly requested.
But she has not regained her memories. How can she meet them in her current state? Larry couldn’t help but worry, as he had not told Delilah and Lucius that Joan had lost her memories.
